Welcome to the AboutMyArea website. This website was launched because I had a real dilemma......

After moving to this area a few years ago I realised that I was spending all of my days travelling up and down the M6 to work. This meant that I had moved here but I wasn't actually 'living' here and because my life was centered around my work there was no time left to get to know the people in the area or get involved with the community.. What I really wanted was to find a way of getting to know my neighbours and get involed with my community.
Hey presto...... I found AboutMyArea, a website that both benefits the community and allowed me to do something that I am passionate about doing.
AboutMyArea is your local community website that is run 'By the community, for the community'. I have only just started this site and, already, thanks to our ever-growing collection of community members, the site is going from strength to strength.
We welcome contributions from all sections of the local community and you can Email Me Now with any local news stories, events, sports, restaurant reviews, charity events etc. Do you run a mother and toddler group, youth club or exercise class? E-mail me all the details now. Photographs in and around our community are always appreciated.
We are also looking for local hero's....Do you know anyone in the local community who has raised a lot of money for charity or gone above and beyond the call of duty? Email Me Now and I will inform the whole community!
We also send out a regular newsletter with all the local 'what's on information'. Sign up to receive the latest copy HERE. This site is updated on a daily basis, so click on your 'add to favourites' button on your web browser to enable you to visit again and again.
