Turn trash into cash for charity

The Council is asking people to donate a variety of unwanted items to Guide Dogs for the Blind including watches, jewellery, keys, mobile phones and old British currency.
Members of the public can drop their unwanted items off at Ripley Town Hall or one of the Council's four town centre offices. The offices are based in Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and Ripley.
Councillor Jack Brown, the Council's Cabinet Member for Clean and Green Issues, said: "This scheme is great because it allows people to do their bit for the environment while supporting a charity. It will reduce the amount of rubbish that needs to be buried in the ground and raise money for the life-changing guide dog service.
"It doesn't matter if the items you donate are broken or have parts missing, they can still be recycled."
The Council's town centre offices are based at :
- Alfreton House, High Street, Alfreton
- King Street, Belper
- Heanor Town Hall, Market Place, Heanor
- Ripley Town Hall, Market Place, Ripley.
