There were plenty of nominees from the DE56 area for this years Amber Valley Sports Awards held on Friday September 28th.
Four of our local talent won catergories and will go through to the Derbyshire Sports Awards to be held at Pride Park on October 26th.
Greg Townley - Tumbling Champion has won Amber Valley Junior Sportsman of the Year and is shortlisted for Derbyshire Junior Sportsman of the Year.
Cheryl Naylor - Netball Coach won the Community Coach category and is shortlisted for Derbyshire Community Coach of the Year.
Mike Allen - Cycling is shortlisted for Derbyshire Veteran Sportsperson of the Year.
Melissa Reid - A rising star on the Golf scene and winner of this years Ladies British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship is shortlisted for Sportsperson of the Year.
