The partnership that manages the site is determined to mark this milestone anniversary, so Adrian Farmer and others associated with the Site will be holding a series of public meetings. The meetings aim to let people know the impact of World Heritage status on the valley and the rest of the county in the first five years, and plans for the next five years.
The first meeting is in the Cromford Institute at 7pm on Thursday 7 December. The second, in Belper, will be held on the actual day of the anniversary, Wednesday 13 December, in St Johns Chapel on The Butts, again at 7pm. The final meeting will be held in Darley Abbey Village Hall at 7pm on Monday 18 December.
Anyone interested in knowing more about the World Heritage Site and the work of the partnership which manages it are welcome to attend. There is no entry charge.
