CARNIVAL DAY APPROACHES!!!
Saturday 19th July
Plans for the Carnival are now well advanced. It will be a great day.....if the weather is as expected!
Carnival Parade is to Start at 12.00 noon from Nestle and Travel Down Station rd towards the salt Box then turn left into Yewtree rd and left again into Heath way then turn right at Field ave and finish on Scropton Rd opposite the Claytons site.
Helpers on the day - marshalling on the field, directing cars etc are still needed - please contact Andy on 01283 814937 if you can be there to help!
Entrance to the Carnival event on Scropton rd Sports field is of course FREE and events will include:
Clowns, jugglers, Marching bands, Falconry display, Football and Marshal Arts displays Vintage motorcycles, a Children's Edwardian Fairground, Musical bands, Magicians, Scouts, Street dancers...........together with numerous stalls, and displays , refreshments and of course the ‘Carnival Queen'
Music in the beer tent will include: The Aftershocks & David O Hara
The Carnival will be officially opened this year by Nestle factory manager Peter Hagman
Before Carnival Day on Friday 18th July local 60's music group FOGGY will be on the Scropton rd sports field in the marquee supported by the young up and coming band THE AFTERSHOCKS. There will also be a DISCO - tickets are £5.00 and will be on sale shortly. The entertainment begins at 7.30pm and there will be a BBQ by the Scouts if you fancy a bite to eat
