Welcome to Castle Donington Museum.
We can be found in the centre of Castle Donington village on the ground floor of a building called The Stone House. A charming 17th Century listed building which was originally used as a farm.
We have a small shop with local interest books, hand turned woodware, Nottingham lace and good quality old fashioned toys. The Museum also has a delightful garden with an outdoor exhibition of Artefacts.
The conversion of the Stone House, barn and garden for use as a Museum began in the spring of 1999. There are two main display rooms, and a reception area with general information on the surrounding district.
An interactive computer facility provides visitors with a series of visual displays showing historical aspects of the area. Our database will provide information on such aspects as genealogy, building history, archeology, published and documentary sources.
