Georgina Burrell's demonstration at the October meeting of the Castle Donington & District Flower Club was entitled "The Burrell Collection Re-visited". Georgina is from South Yorkshire and had visited the club a few years before.
"The Burrell Collection Re-visited" by Georgina BurrellHer designs were varied and ranged from traditional to contemporary. She used an array of weird and wonderful containers, including a metal wheel, a frame she inherited from a school and willow duck houses. She included foliage foraged from a neighbours garden and flowers of all varieties and colours, including roses, gerberas, carnations and beautiful orchids.
The vote of thanks was given by Janet Williams.
The next meeting of the Club will be the annual open meeting on Wednesday 11th November at 7.30 pm in the Village Hall, Moira Dale, Castle Donington. The demonstrator is Jean Egglestone and the demonstration is entitled "Creeping to Christmas".
This meeting is open to all who enjoy flowers and tickets costing £6.50 are available on the door. There will be various stalls, including Festive Fare, a tombola, Christmas decorations and handmade cards, amongst others.
A donation will be made from the proceeds of the evening to Ovarian Cancer Action. Everyone will, as always, be very welcome.
