Gardening Scheme Volunteers Required Urgently

Castle Donington Volunteer Centre are appealing for volunteers to help keep their gardening scheme going following the retirement of their regular gardeners. Keith Lycett and Tony Hibberd retired towards the end of 2007 following over 2 years very hard work running the gardening scheme.
Julie Logan, Volunteer Centre co-manager explained "In 2005 we were lucky enough to receive money from Castle Donington Flower Club to start a gardening service for the elderly and disabled of Castle Donington and surrounding areas. At about the same time Keith and Tony volunteered to help and the scheme has run most successfully until their recent retirement. We are most grateful to them for all their hard work and wish them all the very best in the future. We now need to seek help from other members of the community to keep this valuable service going. We have the equipment and would like to hear from individuals who can give just a couple of hours a week to help with basic grass cutting and weeding."
No experience is necessary and anyone interested should contact Julie or Mick at the Volunteer Centre on 01332 850526.
