Teachers Strike - Is Your School Affected?

Local pupils are facing a day at home as teachers go on strike on Thursday 24th April 2008.
Castle Donington Community CollegeThe National Union of Teachers (NUT) has organised industrial action to take place on Thursday next week over pay.
As a result of this stike action thousands of children will be kept at home across Leicestershire as many schools will have to close, including Castle Donington Community College and Diseworth Primary School, due to being unable to provide adequate supervision, teaching and learning opportunities for pupils on that day.

- Castle Donington Community College - CLOSED
- Hind Leys in Shepshed - CLOSED for Yrs 10 & 11, OPEN for Post 16 Students
- Breedon Primary School - Open as usual
- Diseworth Primary School - CLOSED
- Hemington Primary School - Open as usual
- Long Whatton Primary School - Open as usual
- Orchard Primary School - Open as usual
- St. Edward's Primary School - Open as usual
It is the union's first national walkout for 21 years.
