England Rugby prop, Matt Stevens, is taking on a new challenge this summer by backing the NSPCC's Big Bike Ride at Donington Park in Castle Donington.
Matt Stevens supporting the Big Bike RideFresh from the Six Nations, Matt will be helping the NSPCC to make sure children come in first place by rallying the public to get on two wheels for one of this summer's biggest charity fundraisers.
People living locally can join the big event at Donington Park on Sunday 6 July. From 5pm families can participate in rides of various lengths, ranging from half a mile for younger children to 20 miles for those seeking more of a challenge.
Matt Stevens, said: "I'm hoping that hundreds of people will tackle the NSPCC's Big Bike Ride at Donington Park. It's all good family fun and open to everyone - big or small. By joining in, you'll be on my team along with lots of other big bike riders.
"Please don't stand on the sidelines. Get into gear and raise some cash for the children who desperately need the NSPCC's crucial support services and helplines. Every distance you pedal helps makes a difference."
Mark Hornby, NSPCC community major giving manager for the Midlands, said: "We're delighted to have Matt Stevens on our team. He's an athlete on top form for cycling after training for the Six Nations.
"But the Big Bike Ride is a family affair and we're asking everyone to get on their bike for us - from serious cyclists to mums on bikes with kids on trikes.
"Every penny you raise can help us to answer calls from children who need us. Please join in the fun and help us to transform children's futures."
