Red Nose Day Competition Winner

by Olivia Ward, Orchard School, Castle Donington Age 8
Eight year old Olivia Ward of Orchard School, Castle Donington is celebrating for two reasons. Not only has she won first prize in our AboutMyArea/DE74 competition, but she has also helped to raise well over £230 for Comic Relief.
Olivia's winning Funny Face was picked out from over 200 entries as showing the true essence of Red Nose Day - colourful, funny and a stonking red nose!
As winner of this fun competition, made available to children in the DE74 area through schools, nurseries and childcare facilities, Olivia is now the proud owner of a £20 W.H.Smiths voucher. Her winning face will go on to be judged at AboutMyArea's head office in Birmingham for the chance to win an extra prize and the title of National Winner.
All money raised through the competition will be donated to Comic Relief helping poor and disadvantaged people across Africa and the UK, helping to change their lives.
AboutMyArea DE74 are thrilled with the response, "We had such a fantastic reaction to the competition and going through all the entries to find our DE74 winner was great fun. Thank you to everyone who took part and we're keeping our fingers crossed that Olivia Ward will go on to be successful in the national competition too."
