Competition Winners Review of the Donington Manor Restaurant

In February the Donington Manor Hotel in Castle Donington joined together with AboutMyArea DE74 to offer an online competition to the local community of winning a three course meal for two people with a bottle of wine in their Sage restaurant.
Karen West of Castle Donington was the lucky winner and here is the review of their evening:
We would like to Thank ‘AboutMyArea DE74' and the Donington Manor for the restaurant dinner we won in your online competition. We used our prize last Saturday and had a wonderful evening and it felt like a real treat.
The evening and the ambiance was so romantic and relaxing. The head waiter brought the menu to us in the bar and we chose our meal over a drink. The low lighting and music meant it was just perfect. The menu offered lots of choice. I had Carrot and Coriander Soup and Karen had chicken Liver Parfait. There were many main courses including Steak, Chicken, Lamb, Salmon and Pigeon. Puddings were equally as gorgeous and we had Steam pudding with custard and the Full Cheese Board. All this was washed down with our complimentary Bottle of Wine. We rounded the evening off with coffee and mints.
The choice in the village is limited and before this I wouldn't have thought about using the Donington Manor restaurant, but for a special treat, or business lunch, without having to leave the village, I can thoroughly recommend it. The food was of a high quality, the staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be going back!
