Historic Sports Car Club Championship Sunday 30 March - Donington Park
Turn back the years and enjoy high-speed sporting nostalgia at Donington Park on Sunday 30 March as the Historic Sports Car Club provides a hectic nine race programme that features everything from Hillman Imps to formula cars including Lotus and Brabham.
Ford Lotus Cortinas predominate the entry for the opening round of the Historic Saloon ‘shoot-out' which like all the other races on the afternoon will be decided over 15 minutes of speedy action on the National circuit. Ranged against them will be powerful Mustangs, Mini Coopers and the Imps.
Road sportscars of various ages, among them Lotus, TVR, Datsun, Triumph and Alfa Romeo, feature in two races while Jaguar E-types should steal the show in the HSCC Guards Trophy race with several Porsches pushing them all of the way.
Classic Formula 3 cars have their opening championship action of the new season, as do Historic Formula Fords, but the Millers Oils Historic Formula Juniors will be duelling for the third time already this term.
The Derek Bell Trophy race features highly charged exotic machines while there are various Brabhams, Lotus, Cooper and Lola in action in the Classic Racing Car event.
Practice is between 09.05 and 12.40 with the first of the nine races beginning at 13.30. Adult admission is £12, with accompanied children aged under 15 years admitted FREE. All parking is FREE
