Local entomologist David Clay will be helping visitors to the National Trust's Kedleston Hall to get up close and personal with some of the parkland's nocturnal inhabitants, with two guided Moth Watches taking place in May.
Those attending will be able to discover more about moths and see some of the species that live in the park at Kedleston. Moth traps will be used to catch and then release the insects, allowing people to get a closer look without causing harm.
The National Trust's Head Warden at Kedleston Hall, Simon Hiley, said: "This is a great opportunity for people to visit the parkland at Kedleston with an expert and discover more about some of the nocturnal wildlife that lives here."
The Moth Watches will take place on Saturday 10th and Saturday 17th May at 9pm. Tickets cost £7 per person and must be booked in advance on 01332 842191. Enter the park through the gates at North Lodge, wear warm clothing and bring a torch.
