Butterfly Walks at Kedleston Hall - 5/6 Jul
| Published: 30th June 2008 17:05 |

Visitors to the National Trust's Kedleston Hall will be able to discover more about butterflies on two guided walks in the park on 5 and 6 July. Local entomologist David Clay will lead the walks and share his expert knowledge of these beautiful creatures.
The walks will follow the route of the Wilderness Walk and those attending should be able to spot both grassland and woodland species. The north of the park is home to a variety of butterflies including the well known Red Admiral and Small Tortoiseshell, and the lesser known Comma, Gatekeeper and Peacock.
The National Trust's Warden, Nicola Metcalfe, said: "The butterfly walk is always an enjoyable event, both for those with a particular interest in butterflies and for anyone who would enjoy a good walk in the beautiful surroundings of Kedleston's parkland."
The National Trust is one of the largest and most important landowners for butterflies in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with all but two of the resident British butterfly species living on Trust land.
The walks will take place on Sat 5 & Sun 6 July at 2pm. Meet at Visitor Reception in the main car park and wear walking boots. The walks will last approximately 2 hours, following the route of the Wilderness Walk. Tickets cost £5/ £2.50 and should be booked in advance on 01332 842191. Normal admission charges also apply.
