1000 Mile UK Bike Ride in aid of CHILDLINE on 6th June
Phil Barber has set himself a challenge to ride the length of the UK end
to end, starting in John O'Groats, Scotland and finishing at Lands End.
The journey is approximately 1000 miles avoiding the busier main roads
The challenge is his project for this year to raise money for CHILDLINE
the free helpline for young people. Up to 2000 a day call up and are
unheard as CHILDLINE still cannot accept all the 4500 calls that are put
through by children each day of the year.
They really need our help to
expand their effectiveness.
Phil is a local Life Coach and is used to setting challenges for himself and
for others "This is a particularly interesting one as I haven't been on a
bike in years, as a kid I loved to cycle everywhere. The training is coming
on well especially with living in a hilly, although very beautiful, part of the
country"
The start date for the solo trip is 6th June and his target time is 12 days
averaging over 80 miles a day. His target for fundraising is £2000. Would
