Newton Abbot Markets

Newton Abbot Markets offer a variety of activities including both indoor and outdoor markets featuring a food hall. There are also livestock auctions, farmers' markets and car boot sales. See individual pages for further details.

The Butter Market Building which is open from 9am until 4pm and includes a Food Hall, open from 9am until 5pm, Monday to Saturday and offers a wealth of choice whether it's a gift or fresh fruit and vegetables you need.

The Outdoor Market operates in Market Square from 9am until 4pm Wednesday and Saturday.

The Farmers' Market is in Courtenay Street every Tuesday from 9am until 4pm.

Livestock Auctions are held in the Cattle Market area every Wednesday and there are also Poultry Sales every second Saturday.

 

 

Flowers at Newton Abbot Farmers' Market - Courtenay Street : Flowers at Newton Abbot Farmers' Market - Courtenay Street|Newton Abbot Farmers' Market Newton Abbot Farmers' Market was launched in December 2000. It is located in Courtenay Street which is the pedestrianised street in the heart of Newton Abbot town centre. After many years of operating in this location the Farmers' Market has gained a reputation for product quality and the variety continues to add to the existing retail offer within Newton Abbot markets and town centre in general.

 

Newton Abbot Livestock Market : Newton Abbot Livestock Market|Newton Abbot Livestock Market The first record of Newton Abbot Market was in 1221 during the reign of Henry 3rd. The Livestock Market moved to it's present location in 1938 and was upgraded in the 1950's and the Sheep Market was rebuilt under the Multi-storey Car Park in 1970.

 

Newton Abbot Market Hall : Newton Abbot Market Hall|Newton Abbot Retail Markets Newton Abbot Retail Markets, located in the centre of the town, offer a range of events and retail experiences throughout the week. Aside from the regular Outdoor Street Markets and the Pannier Market, there are also Trash & Treasure Sales on Fridays and seasonal events such as the annual Cheese and Onion Fayre and Victorian Evening, both run by Newton Abbot Town Council. The Pannier Market is currently undergoing a major refurbishment which should be complete by September 2007. For further information, please see below.

Opens 6am - Spaces are normally available until 8.30am

On rainy days the Car Boot Sale is held undercover in the Multi-storey Car Park. On these occasions spaces are limited, so it is recommended that you arrive no later than 7am.
