With Turlin Moor Community School set to be rebuilt as a result of the amalgamation of Turlin Moor First School and Turlin Moor Middle School this September, a solution was needed to enable everything to carry on as usual whilst work on the new school building is underway.
As a result award winning chartered building company, Greendale Construction are now busy erecting a block of temporary classrooms ready for the start of the new school year.
The 31m x 12.5 meter concrete based block will provide classrooms for Year 7 pupils and be fully equipped with gas, water, electrics and include a cloakroom, toilets, library, along with additional rooms assisting with learning and pastoral support.
Rob Hooker, director of Greendale Construction said: "People might assume that temporary classrooms are far from ideal, however, these days it's far from it and they will have everything the pupils need and be fully fitted out to an extremely high standard. We are pleased to play a part in ensuring the new school continues to provide a good education and the best possible facilities for all pupils."
Turlin Moor Community School head teacher Sue Westcott said It is an exciting time for everyone and these facilities will ensure that all of our pupils are can be on the same site once all the building work is completed."
