Numbers raise for Kaitlin's Bowl

Bowlplex holds its most successful Charity Bowl EVER!!

BowlPlexBowlplex at Tower Park will hold a special charity ten pin bowling event on 14th May, especially for three year old Kaitlin from Corfe Mullen. All money raised will go towards the fund to buy Kaitlin a special wheelchair, which costs £5,000 as well as a standing frame and brace, which will significantly improve Kaitlin's life.

Kaitlin, who was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy called 'Central Core Disease' which meant that when she was born she was unable to move her legs, arms or head. The wheelchair will help her to gain more independence giving her freedom to explore on her own, whilst the standing frame will offer Kaitlin the opportunity to interact with other children at eye level.

Julia's HouseWith the support of the charity Julia's House, money has already been raised through different local events. When Bowlplex heard about Kaitlin's story they wanted to do what they could to help, Tower Park Bowlplex General Manager, Paul Duncan explains: "The Bowling for Kaitlin event has already received some fantastic feedback from the local community.

"Bowlplex is donating all 24 ten-pin bowling lanes and pool tables for the whole evening with every penny raised going to Kaitlin's appeal. We already have a number of people signed up but we are always looking for more. For just £10 per person you will receive a drink on arrival, bowling, grand raffle, fun games and prizes. Not only will it be a fantastic evening but also it is for a very worthy cause! The evening will also include a face painter and a children's entertainer performing numerous magic tricks and balloon modelling.

"We would like everyone to get involved in the fundraising whether it's with friends, family or work colleagues. We are also requesting raffle prizes from the local business community so we can raise extra money for Kaitlin. If you can't attend the evening please free to donate a raffle prize or buy a raffle ticket from Bowlplex Reception."

Mike Bartlett, development director from Julia's House said: "Events like these are great for bringing the Dorset community together to support the children cared for at Julia's House.

"Kaitlin and her family have been supported by the charity since September 2005, both at home and at the hospice. Kaitlin particularly likes the Multi-Sensory Room and the music sessions at the hospice, which are designed to enhance the quality of life for Kaitlin and other children.

"As we receive almost no money from the government, it's the money raised by the community that allows us to continue to be there for the children who need us most. I hope that the public will get behind this event and have a bowl for a great cause."

Bowling for Kaitlin is taking place at Tower Park Bowlplex on Wednesday 14th May at 7.30pm, for further information please contact Bowlplex on 01202 715907.

NUMBERS RISE FOR KAITLIN'S BOWL!

"The more people who come to support Kaitlin the better! We aim to raise as much money as we can for Kaitlin who deserves the opportunity to gain more independence and freedom with the new equipment."

BOWLPLEX HOLDS ITS MOST SUCCESSFUL CHARITY BOWL EVER!Bowling for Kaitlin

In its most successful charity event ever, Bowlplex welcomed hundreds of people to its entertainment centre for one reason only; to raise money for local girl, Kaitlin Moors!

Over 300 people attended the charity bowl at Tower Park Bowlplex, which was held to raise money for three year old Kaitlin who was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy called central core disease soon after she was born.

The evening raised a staggering £4,216, which will go towards the fund to buy Kaitlin a standing frame and brace to significantly improve Kaitlin's quality of life.

Bowlplex general manager, Paul Duncan said: "Kaitlin's Bowl was the most successful charity event that Bowlplex has ever held! To raise over £4,000 is staggering, and it is only thanks to the local community that it was such a success!"

"I would also like to thank local businesses who donated an array of amazing prizes for the raffle, and personally thank Bowlplex managing director, Tracy Standish who donated all of the ten pin bowling lanes and American pool pit tables to the special event."

"Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially Kaitlin who attended her special evening in her best party shoes. The evening's entertainment was made even more special thanks to magician James Brown, as well as Chrissy Marshall who spent fours hours drawing caricatures of our guests."

Bowlplex RaffleThe superb raffle raised in excess of £1,000 as raffle prizes including spa days, chauffeur driven meals out and family passes to various local attractions captured the imagination of the bowlers. Progressive Resources kindly donated a fantastic team-building day for up to 30 people which raised a fantastic £530 through the silent auction.

Kaitlin and her parentsDave Moors, father of Kaitlin added: "The charity night was brilliant; the staff at Bowlplex all worked so hard in the weeks up to and on the night to take care of everyone who came along to bowl. We didn't dare imagine that it would go so well with so many people. Kaitlin was very happy to be in the middle of it all too and it's going to be great when we receive the specialist equipment in her size!

"My wife, Kaitlin and I were amazed by the support and would like to say a very big thank you to everyone at Bowlplex for their kind generosity and especially to Michaela, Frances and Leigh for their work in organising the event and all the effort they put in getting raffle prizes."

Organisers Frances D'Ardenne, Leigh Cooper and Michaela Gill would like to thank all who attended the event and pass their thanks to the local community who whole-heartedly supported this worthwhile charity night.
