James Alexander-Sinclair at Watling Reclamation
Internationally renown landscape architect and gardener James Alexander-Sinclair gets very excited as he enthuses about a reclamation and salvage yard that has recently opened on his doorstep.
James Alexander-Sinclair was guest of honour at an open evening for landscape gardeners at Watling Reclamation, based at Cuttle Mill just south of Towcester on the A5 last week.
Neill Taylor who owns the yard said, "We were delighted when James said he would come and say a few words, however it took a bit to get him out of they yard and into the office - despite the rain!"
James gave an engaging talk to local landscape architects and garden designers starting, "Watling Reclamation is the sort of place where you can barely move without stubbing your toe on some wonderful piece of stonework…"
"Most yards take hours to visit as you have to scratch around in their darkest depths - but here at Watling Reclamation they have introduced the boutique approach that is going to make life easy for both designers and clients.
"Literally five yards from the car you immediately become engrossed in some lovely stone steps, stone water troughs, handmade bricks, gate posts and much more - you don't even get muddy feet!
"If I were to go on Dessert Island Discs I would take York flagstones!"
Neill Taylor went on to say, "We are expanding the range almost daily and we are now have a good stock of architectural ironwork all cleaned and red oxide painted."
