The Wilkinson store on Carregammon Road, Ammanford, is all set to unveil its brand new look to the public on Thursday 24th May, with a little help from rugby team, the Scarlets, and the newly elected Mayor of Ammanford.
The store, which will be closed on Wednesday 23rd May, will reveal its eagerly anticipated makeover at 9am, featuring an improved layout, new product ranges and a brighter, more modern shopping experience.
Ex-Wales international and Scarlets player, Dafydd Jones and the Scarlets' community development officer, Chris Spriggs, will join the new Mayor of Ammanford, Wilkinsons' DC2 manager, Mark Johnson and store manager, Jimmy Lanigan, in a ribbon cutting ceremony to declare the store officially re-open.
Early bird shoppers in Ammanford will have the chance to enter a lucky dip, to win a prize from a selection of beauty goodies from the store's Get Gorgeous range. Staff members will also host a raffle throughout the day, to raise money for the store's charity of the year, Wales Air Ambulance. One lucky customer will win a trolley packed full of picnicware including a hamper, blanket and outdoor tableware.
During the morning, children from Ammanford Nursery School will visit the retailer to deliver a host of summer themed posters to display inside the revamped Wilkinson store. As a thank you for the colourful creations, the children will be presented with Wilkinsons' store vouchers to spend on arts & crafts products.
Store manager, Jimmy, said: "We're very excited about the store's makeover and are looking forward to showing it off to the new Mayor of Ammanford and our guests from the Scarlets, as well as our loyal customers.
"Not only will the store have a more modern layout, creating an all-round better shopping experience, it will also stock an impressive range of great value seasonal and everyday products."
The celebrations will continue on Saturday 26th May when customers will be treated to free cupcakes and a face painter will also be transforming children into colourful characters from 10am until 4pm.
