If you live in Barking & Dagenham, Newham or Tower Hamlets and are 19-25 years old, this is an opportunity for you!
If not, you may know someone who fits this profile so please forward this on to them. UpRising is a fantastic opportunity for young East Londoners who want to change East London for the better.
UpRising is a free of charge part-time leadership programme that runs over the course of a year. There are 60 free places available for young people from Barking & Dagenham, Newham or Tower Hamlets. Applications are now open for 2009/10 - just visit http://www.uprising.youngfoundation.org to apply.
Those who are successful in joining UpRising will:
- gain leadership skills for their future career - whatever it might be
- receive high quality training including a two day leadership retreat
- have the space to reflect and develop personally
- receive help and support to transform their community for the better
- work together with other UpRisers
- receive support from fellow UpRisers, mentors and the UpRising team
- have opportunities to attend exciting events and to go on learning visits - to institutions such as The Houses of Parliament, local town halls, government departments or the BBC.
