Suffering shoppers soon to shop in splendour
At long last, the area around Dagenham Heathway station will soon return to the bustling shopping centre it used to be. The protracted make-over has now all but finished, with just a few outstanding patches to clear up - and the final touches to be made to the Hedgemans Road and Dagenham Avenue junction.

Dagenham Heathway Station - just like the artist's impression

The smartly paved broad pedestrian areas on each side of the road, and the newly erected bus stops, are a welcomed relief to the daily struggle through the building site that shoppers had come to expect.

Fenced off areas, what had more or less become a permenent feature around Dagenham Heathway Station, will soon be a thing of the past

For those shoppers planning to make a meal of the experience, there could be no better place for a nice cup of tea, or a bite to eat, than at the Snack Bar. A friendly café close to the station. They provide teas and coffee, lunches and sandwiches, or you can enjoy an excellent set breakfast of either:
bacon, egg, sausage with beans or tomatoes (fresh or canned) and a slice of bread & butter,or; bacon, egg, mushroom with chips and a slice of bread & butter
They also make cakes for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays!
