TOP Textile Recycling Collection Service from The Osborne Partnership

'TOP' takes its name from the initials of The Osborne Partnership which is a charity based in RM9.
TOP provides a highly valuable service to the borough's 76,000 residents as well as helping the environment by reducing landfill. Working with recycling giants L M Barry, the project aims to recycle over 190 tons of Textiles by June 2008.
The TOP service differs from other textile collection programmes. Instead of giving out bags and stipulating a particular day for collection, this service provides customers with printed tags which they fix to their bags of clothing or bric-a-brac once they've had time to sort them out. When they are ready, they call the TOP team and arrange a personal collection.
This way there is no rush to fill the bags before a given collection day. As well as this benefit, because there is a degree of flexibility on when the collection can be made, regular collection patterns which are prone to textile theft are avoided.
The service in three easy steps:
STEP 1 Place the textiles or Bric-a-Brac into a standard black refuse sack
STEP 2 Tie the TOP tag to the Bag
STEP 3 Call the TOP Textile recycling team 0208 596 9999 to book a personal collection appointment.
When a bag is collected, the tag is removed and placed through the customer's letter box so that they can re-use it next time they have textiles to recycle.
