Richard Hutchins & Andy Steele will attempt to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in under 12 hours on the 23rd July 2009.
The challenge involves a grueling 24.5 mile walk, climbing 3 mountains(Whernside, Ingleborough & Pen-y-Ghent) with a combined height of over 7,000ft en route!
We would be very grateful for all donations, either to be paid on completion of the challenge or on a per-mile basis.

This event is part of a series of challenges to be undertaken by Richard (and in some cases Andy!) over the next 2 years. Future planned challenges include walking the length of Hadrian's Wall and the scaling of Ben Nevis. One of the big events apart from Ben Nevis, is a grueling bicycle ride from Hull to Downing Street in London.
The overall aim is to raise 1 million for good causes in the East Yorkshire area. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the charity Children & Family Action.
Children & Family Action is a registered charity providing a range of services including activity days, information, advice and guidance, day trips, parenting courses, and much more for children, young people and families in the East Riding of Yorkshire, many of whom suffer from rural isolation and a lack of adequate services and opportunities.
The money raised will contribute to the building of a world class community centre in Withernsea from which to deliver these services to the young people and families in the area. (Click on the Shores Centre photograph for more information about CFA)

P.S. When you make a donation, don't forget to check the Gift Aid box if you're a UK taxpayer as then your charity can claim an extra 28% from the government!
About me
You can read all you want about me and why I am doing this fund raising on my blog by clicking on the link provided below.
The main reason is that I want to change the lives of thousands of people, by giving the children of today a much better start in life than they could have ever wished for, I want to make our community thrive and prosper, and I believe I can do that by helping raise funds for the local charity, Children & Family Action.
Children's Art Festival The children of today are our future, if we don't help them now, they will not be able to help us when we are old.
Life is going to be tuff for the kids of today, much harder than we have ever had things, so we have to help them now before its too late.
Why I am supporting CHILDREN AND FAMILY ACTION
Because I know that the charity does outstanding work to support families living in a rurally-isolated area who would otherwise have little access to services and activities. Please Click the 'Art' logo to find out about one of the many events set-up by Children and Family Action - the Withernsea Children's Art Festival which is to be held over three days in August, the 13th, 14th & 15th.
