East Sussex County Council has announced the death of Ron Dyason, County Councillor for Bexhill King Offa. Councillor Dyason passed away on the 7 April 2008.
Appointed to the County Council in May 1997, Councillor Dyason was a member of the County Council's Audit and Best Value and Transport and Environment Scrutiny Committees. He had been Vice Chairman of the Council for a year from May 2003 and Chairman of the Planning and Highways Sub-Committee from 2001 to 2003.
Rother District Council also regrets to have to announce that Councillor Ron Dyason sadly passed away this morning.
Councillor Dyason represented Bexhill Collington Ward on Rother District Council and Bexhill King Offa Ward on East Sussex County Council. Councillor Dyason was first elected to Rother in May 1995 and served as Chairman in 2005/06.
He had a very distinguished career in local politics, having served as a Councillor for over 50 years including terms of office at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead( where he was Mayor) and as Leader of Berkshire County Council.
Derek Stevens the Council's Chief Executive said, "I am grateful for the time, effort and tremendous amount of experience Councillor Dyason brought to the Council and he will be greatly missed by his colleagues. Our thoughts at this sad time are with his wife Doreen and their family."
