Bus Passes - update
| Published: 20th May 2008 17:15 |

Since the commencement of the new National Travel Concession, Rother District Council has successfully issued almost 17,000 National Passes to eligible customers. This represents an increase of 27% (3595) on the number of passes issued in the previous year.
Due to delays in production of the passes by the external supplier and to ensure our customers received uninterrupted local travel, an agreement was made with the local bus operators that out of date local passes would be honoured until the end of April 2008 if a customer's national concession had not been received.
Despite our best endeavours, some existing customers still have not received their national passes for a variety of reasons, outside of the Council's control. Discussions were undertaken to allow out of date passes to be accepted until the end of May. Early indications were that this was acceptable to most local service providers, but we regret we were unable to gain agreement from all bus companies to this extension.
Whilst we apologise to any existing customer who has yet to receive their national concession, we are making every effort to ensure that requests are processed as quickly as possible. We would ask customers to contact us if they have not received their pass within 4 weeks of request by telephoning 01424 787000, emailing customerservices@rother.gov.uk or visiting one of our Community Help Points at Battle, Bexhill or Rye.
