British Heart Foundation £1m fundraiser
| Published: 5th December 2007 16:48 |

The British Heart Foundation are organising a Valentines Appeal to raise £1m in February 2008. The money raised would be used to fund local care activities such as British Heart Foundation Heart Nurses and Heart Help Line.
They are looking for volunteers and third party eventers to take on an activity to help raise money for this very worthwhile cause. To give the activity more of a local feel the British Heart Foundation would like to encourage local people to get involved by running their own fundraising event, this can be whatever you like. If you are interested please contact Kim Brophy on 01580-754027 or e-mail brophyk@bhf.org.uk.
I have attached a Press Release on behalf of BHF which also refers to ways of helping reach the £1m target.

In the UK there are 2.6 million men and women living with coronary heart disease and for some it can be frightening and debilitating. Last year BHF Heart Nurses were able to help 50,000 of these heart patients and the charity's Heart Help Line provided support and information to 13,000 callers. But we urgently need your help to reach so many more.
Jackie Skeel, Head of Fundraising Promotions at the British Heart Foundation said, "Help make Valentine's Day mean more this year by giving a gift that saves lives. With your support the BHF could help care for even more heart patients and their families, whether in their homes or on the telephone. As well as making your loved one's day complete this Valentine's Day, you could be making a real difference to the lives of many patients and their families".
