The Essex Air Ambulance

If an accident takes place in any part of Essex isn't it comforting to know that you are only 23 minutes away from the nearest hospital?
This is thanks to the work of The Essex Air Ambulance and the star of the show is the Eurocopter EC135 T2. This helicopter can reach even the most inaccessible areas, such as golf courses, bridle paths and beaches, as well as roads, in record time.
Emergency take-off is within 3 minutes from receiving a call and clinicians and life saving equipment can be rushed to the scene of an incident and back to an appropriate hospital within minutes.
Speed is crucial to give a victim the best chance of survival and recovery. The Essex Air Ambulance can reach even the furthest points of the county within 15 minutes and then fly to the nearest hospital in a further 8 minutes.
The Essex Air Ambulance charity was established in 1997 and the first Air Ambulance was launched from Boreham in 1998.
The charity has come along way since then and the helicopter is now deployed an average of 3-5 times a day and flies at around 160 miles per hour.
This essential emergency service relies on the generosity of the people and businesses of Essex, through donations, time and suggestions for fundraising initiatives. As the traffic in the county increasing, the weather becomes more diverse and we take up more extreme sports, so the xxxxxx
