The Billericay Youth Town Council
The BYTC is made up of 20 young people; aged 12 to 21 who meet twice a month. They discuss anything related to the youth, and aim to make Billericay more fun for all young people.
In recent years it has organised many very successful Battle of the Bands, helped with the switch on of Billericay's Christmas Lights and has been involved in the installation of the Lake Meadow's Skate Park.
'We are continuing to work on these projects as well as on other new and exciting things. For 2007 we are currently planning Battle of the Bands 07, improvements on the Skate Park and two artistic competitions supporting Billericay's Litter Campaign.'
If you are interested in joining the BYTC, and live, work or go to school in Billericay you should contact the Town Clerk, who will let you know if there are any places and how to go about being co-opted.
Every 2 years elections are held in local schools to elect a new council. A new council was elected in October 2008.
