Sunnymede wins top award

Pupils, staff and parents are celebrating the latest accolade to come to Sunnymede Junior School.
"I am thrilled that we have achieved this award at established level as it is an acknowledgement of the hard work and commitment of our tutors, many of whom are staff members or parents/carers. Extra-curricular provision at Sunnymede has been recognised as a strength of the school in during our last two OFSTED inspections and achieving this award has further validated external evaluation of our provision." The school has been awarded the Established Level for Quality in Study Support (QiSS).
This is a national award which recognises the breadth and commitment the school has for providing activities outside normal school hours.
The clubs run before and after school as well as lunchtime. Some clubs are run by staff who enjoying mixing with children from outside their class.
The school is one of only 6 schools in Essex to be recognised for the award and only the 2nd junior school in the county to gain the award at Established, which is the highest possible for the first award.
The school currently runs 25 different clubs which include a brain gym, basketball, karate and art.
