A judge has told two men to expect jail sentences after they pleaded guilty to assisting a suspected gunman of escaping the scene of a shooting.
The men, Wayne Perry and Jason Steele, admitted to assisting an offender, although pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.
"blasted with a shotgun at close range"
The incident, which took place in July last year, saw millionaire businessman Doug Turner, shot outside his Stock home. The 52 year-old was seriously injured in the shooting, losing three of his fingers and part of his hand when he was blasted with a shotgun at close range.
Police believe 22 year-old Daniel Smith, actually carried out the attack before fleeing to Spain, and is now the subject of a European Arrest Warrant.
The case was adjourned for reports, with the pair expected to be sentenced shortly.
