Basildon council has refused a Chinese takeaway based at Queens Palace, in Perry Street, permission to open on Sundays, following residents objecting to the plan.
"smells & noise"
The takeaway had hoped to extend its opening hours beyond the 10am until 8.30pm on Monday to Saturday, by also offering their services between midday and 9.30pm on a Sunday. However, after householders in the residential area surrounding the takeaway were canvassed, objections were raised on the grounds of the additional traffic, smells and noise that would be created.
