Turn Around Support Group

The Turn Around group was set up in April 2006 to provide support for women feeling depressed after the birth of their baby.
The group is designed for women to share their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. The intention of the group is not to be a therapeutic group, but an ideal opportunity to meet with other mums experiencing the same feelings and to support one another, which will hopefully be beneficial.
The group has a maximum of eight women, generally with two facilitators, one of which is the specialist health visitor for post natal depression and the other being a health visitor from the Billericay, Brentwood and Wickford location.
The group runs for a block of five consecutive weeks (including a Saturday session which fathers may also attend). Commitment is requested for the whole five weeks, prior to starting.
There is a crèche available, run by a qualified Nursery Nurse and he women attending the group are encouraged to share experiences and explore options given. Support from other women with the same feelings can be extremely beneficial and many of the groups continue to meet once the sessions have finished.
The group is held at:
Billericay Health Centre, Stock Road, Billericay
On Monday mornings from 9.30am - 11.30am
