CD to aid relaxation for Children

A ‘GROUNDBREAKING' CD to aid relaxation has been launched and is being made available to all the children in Essex.

PLAY PAUSE UNWIND is the combined effort of Angela Buillard-Meaden, who runs the Essex Physiotherapy Clinic in South Woodham Ferrers, and composer Simon Raget, aka Sug Mon Kooky.

The CD is a soundtrack of music and effects described as taking you "on a series of relaxation journeys" and all the profits from sale will be going to the charities Families Need Fathers and Little Havens Children's Hospice.

It has already been snapped up by the Department of Education. to be used as part of the Healthy Schools Programme, with a copy being made available to every junior and senior school throughout the county as part of a stress management programme for children.

Angela said: "Over recent years Essex Physiotherapy Clinic has seen a dramatic increase in the number of patients requiring treatement for stress-related problems and PLAY PAUSE UNWIND can be used to help with everyday stress such as arguments, difficulty sleeping, exams and work pressures.

"It is ideal for families experiencing stressful situations such as illness, divorce and bereavement."

The CD came about following a chance meeting at BBC Essex on which Angela and Simon regularly appear. The CD costs £10.99 and is available at the clinic or from www.essexphysio.co.uk  or http://www.sugmonkooky.com/

Note (August 2011) : This CD is still available at the websites above and there is now PLAY PAUSE UNWIND 2 and an accompanying teaching notes pack for the first CD. The CDs now cost £9.99 each.
