Presentation of Community Award to Margaret Day

The Annual Town Meeting was held on Tuesday 24th April in the Town Hall, Market Hill, Maldon.

The Town Mayor, Councillor Stephen Savage, presented the 2012 Town Mayor of Maldon's Award for services to the community to Margaret Day.

Margaret Day worked at Maldon' Citizen's Advice Bureau for 16 years and was Chairman of the Maldon Society for many years.

This year, in addition to the reports from the Council, there were representatives from Mid Essex Hospital Trust who updated us on plans for St Peter's Hospital. Also, Peter Garrett and Vicky Ayriss, Maldon District Council, were there to tell us about all the events happening in Maldon in 2012.

Local organisations held displays of thier work and were available to answer questions from the public before the meeting started.
