Author: Norma Green, Chairman YES Partnership Published: 23rd July 2015 15:33

Investors in Young People 2014 Awards winners group

2015 Investors in Young People Awards has launched - your opportunity to nominate businesses, individuals and young people who have made a significant contribution to helping local young people along their path to successful employment and a fulfilling career.

Following the success of last year's inaugural IYP Awards, for 2015 we have widened the categories and increased the scope of those we are recognising and rewarding. As well as The four YES award categories, for which we want your nominations, we have introduced an opportunity for each of our six local schools, plus the local college and Job Centre (DWP) to nominate three young people and three business supporters each to be invite to our awards evening and receive the recognition they deserve.

Once again our thanks go to the Waltham Abbey Marriott Hotel who will be hosting this prestigious event on Friday 16th October 2015.

To find out why we launched the IYP Awards, please watch video made by Epping Forest young people (please note this video was produced to promote the 2014 event so the date at the end of the video is our first event date, but the YES Partnership vision and the challenge remains the same):

The award categories, and criteria are as follows:

Schools and College IYP Awards - (awarded by each of the six local schools; Davenant Foundation School, Debden Park High School, Epping St John's, King Harold Business and Enterprise Academy, Roding Valley High School, West Hatch High School and Epping Forest College)

For business support: recognising businesses that have been most supportive of the school/college in providing effective collaboration, resources and mentoring to improve and enhance the employment prospects of its students.

For students awards: recognising those students who have taken best advantage of the opportunities offered to them by businesses and have, by their own endeavours, benefitted most to improve their employment/career prospects in the process.

DWP IYP Awards - For business support: recognising businesses that have been most supportive to the district's young unemployed by providing effective collaboration, resources and mentoring to improve and enhance the employment prospects of its clients.

Do you know a young person who deserves recognition for their significant contribution to a business as an apprentice or a local business who deserves recognition for their support and guidance given to their apprentices? Why not nominate them for an IYP Award online via the YES Partnership website!

You need to log in before you can do that! It's only a quick registration process to join the AMA network and completely free.
