Waltham Abbey's Becket Drama Company presents their latest theatre production the comedy "Trivial Pursuits" by Frank Vickery at Waltham Abbey Town Hall, Highbridge Street, Waltham Abbey, EN9 1DE on Thursday 17th, Friday 18th & Sat 19th May 2012 at 7.45pm.
"Trivial Pursuits" shows playwright Frank Vickery at his comedic best with biting one-liners, moments of pure slapstick and hilarious farce.
The play is set at a local amateur dramatic society social evening and finds the members in their society doing anything they can to win the starring role in their next production. There is a lot of laughter and twists as the story unfolds, characters foibles and talents are revealed and their relationships to each other immerge.
Director of Trivial Pursuits Paul Finn said: "It's an ensemble piece and it's very true and rather cutting, especially when it comes to amateur dramatics. I haven't come across the exact scenario, but it's true that amateur dramatics is full of people with big egos who want to play the leading role."
We are very lucky to have our own drama company in Waltham Abbey that perform excellent productions three times a year on our doorstep, please support them - get your family and friends together for a great local night out. If their previous excellent comedy production of "No Sex Please We're British" is anything to go by you won't be disappointed.
Tickets cost just £8.00 or £7.00 for concessions from Waltham Abbey Tourist Information Centre on 01992 660336 (please note new number) or the Becket Drama Company box office on 01992 716112.
A limited number of tickets will be available on the door, but avoid disappointment and book your tickets in advance.
