Looking for something different to do with the kids?
Why not enjoy a Lantern Making Workshop on Saturday 25th April 2015 and then join in the evening Meridian Lantern Procession the following Sunday 3rd May 2015 in River Lee Country Park.
The Lantern Making Workshop will take place in Waltham Abbey Gardens, Abbey View, Waltham Abbey, Essex, EN9 1XQ on Saturday 25th April from 2.00-4.00pm. Price is just £3 per child for all the materials to make a lantern.
Join Lee Valley Park Rangers to try your hand at making lanterns that can be used in the following weekend's Meridian Lantern Procession.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are free to attend.

Meridian Lantern Procession
Meridian Lantern Procession will take place on Sunday 3rd May 2015 meeting outside the Abbey Church Centre in the Waltham Abbey Gardens at 8.45pm (finishing around 10pm).
Come along with a lantern to enjoy a sunset guided walk, when the sun has set their will be a lantern lit procession down the Meridian Line of River Lee Country Park in the dark between the two Meridian Sculptures.
If you would rather meet us at the northern Meridian Sculpture, we will get there just after sunset (approximately 9:20pm).
Please bring along own paper or jar lantern. Remember children under 8 years old are not permitted to carry a flame based lantern (glow sticks are fine) and all children MUST be supervised by an adult.
If you cannot make the Lantern Making Workshop on Sat 25th April don't worry Lee Valley Park have produced a paper lantern and jar lantern design. Please click to download the design sheets to make one at home!
