Daily Echo's Search for a Star Competition
| Published: 19th June 2007 20:11 |
From the Daily Echo, 19th June 2007:
"We are looking for anyone who thinks they have something special, whether it's a voice to rival the best pop singers or a catalogue of jokes that would make Lenny Henry proud.
Perhaps you have dancing feet and want to show us what they can do.
We know there is a wealth of hidden talent in Hampshire, and we are on a quest to unearth the best. There are no entry restrictions - old or young, we want to hear from you.
Six-year-old Connie proved that age is no barrier when she captured the nation's hearts in the ITV talent search Britain's Got Talent.
The pint-sized pop prodigy's rendition of Over The Rainbow even made judge, Hampshire born actress Amanda Holden cry.
Top spot went to 36-year-old mobile phone salesman Paul Potts, who transformed himself into a Pavarotti-style opera singer.
It could be your big break too - so we want you to send us videos of you performing.
Alternatively, if you do not have a video camera, why not contact us and we will film your performance for you."
Send entries to Hampshire's Top Talent, Southern Daily Echo, Newspaper House, Test Lane, Redbridge, Southampton SO16 9JX.
