Redevelopment of Shops & Flats in Chandler's Ford

Now Eastleigh Borough Council's Cabinet has commissioned a development brief which identifies possible options for the future of the site. And all options will require a high quality development as Pam Holden-Brown, Chairman of the Chandler's Ford and Hiltingbury Local Area Committee, explains, "The Precinct has looked tired for many years. The Cabinet's approval of the brief increases the prospect of the area being revitalised and enhanced with a scheme that will deliver a high quality redevelopment providing local shops, residential, commercial and light industrial uses."
Work on the project will depend on a developer stepping forward to provide the scheme. This will not happen before the Council has consulted local people.
Pam Holden-Brown added, "We are keen to hear what local people think about the proposals. In addition to full details on the Council's website we will be holding an exhibition about the future of the area to make sure there is a good understanding of the proposals."
The exhibition will be on 25 July at St Boniface Church, Hursley Road between 7pm and 9pm. The full development brief is available on www.eastleigh.gov.uk/ebc-1485 and a copy can be seen at the Civic Offices, Leigh Road, Eastleigh.
