Southampton is hosting its 39th Boat Show this week, giving visitors the chance to see products from 600 companies.
The show, which runs until Sunday September 23rd, gives visitors the chance to step aboard one of the most famous boats in history, the HMS Bounty, which has appeared in Mutiny on the Bounty and much more recently Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End.
There will also be the opportunity to get out on the water and experience the thrill of boating and the popular Hydropool Marina, a 2.5km feature, has been popular in the past.
Meanwhile, a 'celebrity restaurant' is offering fine dining among current boats from the yacht racing scene.
Adventurous visitors should not forget their swimsuits if they want to take part in Try-a-Dive, an opportunity to experience scuba diving in a swimming pool while friends and family can watch you underwater on TV.
In addition there will be breathtaking search and rescue demonstrations on Wednesday 19th and Saturday 22nd, involving HM Coastguard and the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution).
Southampton Boat Show is part of Seacity Southampton 2007 which takes place between April and October, made up of a collaboration of events and activities aimed at promoting the city's maritime heritage and strong relationship with the ocean.
The final event will be the Seafood Festival which runs from October 1st through to the 31st. This will feature special seafood offers at restaurants and bars and seafood tasters at supermarkets through the week, as well as the seafood chef competition.
