Solent University student and Evolution of Youth organiser, Ransford Laryea, said, "Evolution of Youth" is all about promoting a positive message of dance culture within today's youth society. Eastleigh College is one of many schools and colleges that we will be visiting to draw interest across the region and promote the dance-off competition which is open to all.'
BTEC First and National Diploma in Performing Arts students at Eastleigh College took part in an Urban Dance workshop with Southampton-based "Evolution of Youth" Dance Company. The workshop was led by former Eastleigh College Performing Arts student, James Page, and students spent a fun and active afternoon working with James, whilst learning more about the largest dance competition on the south coast.
The workshop concluded with students performing the material taught by "Evolution of Youth" and those brave enough to perform the routine solo were awarded free tickets to the under 18 section of the "survival of the fittest" live dance-off on Sunday 5th October. Judges will be looking to pick six of the best dancers on the south coast, giving many Eastleigh College Performing Arts students the opportunity to showcase their talents to a wider audience.
