£10 Million Opportunity at Eastleigh College

Mark Haysom, Chief Executive of the Learning & Skills Council officially opened Eastleigh College's brand new £10 million technology facility on Friday to an audience of invited guests including Chris Huhne MP, Lord & Lady Chidegy and Roger Smith, the Mayor of Eastleigh.

The new addition, which has taken two years to build, encompasses state of the art learning facilities including Motor Vehicle, Plumbing & Gas, Electrical Installation, Construction, Built Environment, Engineering and a new suite of classrooms for Care & Health Studies.

Mark Haysom commented ‘This £10 million investment brings the college into the 21st Century, creating a huge opportunity for more young people and adults to come to Eastleigh'

Alongside the new technology facility, Eastleigh College's Desborough Campus has also been newly refurbished to encompass a dedicated Creative & Visual Arts faculty and six Hair & Beauty salons (including coffee shop) which are open to the public at very competitive prices!

All guests where taken on a tour of the college's new development and could see firsthand how students are benefiting from the new facilities through a variety of demonstrations put on by each department.

Tony Lau-Walker, Chief Executive of Eastleigh College commented ‘Our aim is to provide quality vocation education to the local and wider community, this new facility allows us to offer our students one of the best learning environment in the area'.
