Double success for Eastleigh College

Eastleigh College Public Services students have won the Army's Uniformed Public Service Challenge which took place in May at Thorney Island.
The students competed against seven other colleges across Hampshire at this highly regarded annual Army event.

Orienteering was just one of the activities that the team completed successfully. The Eastleigh College team was broken down into smaller groups and each group had to navigate around a course within the army base at top speed. Eastleigh College students completed the task in just 19.5 minutes and no other colleges managed to complete it within such a tight time frame. An Army assessor commented ‘the success was down to the fitness of the students'.
The team consisted of Eastleigh College Public Services students from across the BTEC First and BTEC National programmes. Helen Carr, Public Services lecturer commented ‘the students had great fun completing the activities and was an excellent experience for them. We look forward to defending the title in 2009!'
This is just another feather in the cap for Eastleigh College as their Catering and Hospitality students have also won the Catering Army Challenge during May for a third year in a row.
