Eastleigh College celebrated the launch of its new apprenticeships in Hairdressing and Nail Services this month when it hosted the HABIA 2008 ‘Hair and Nail' road show.
HABIA, who are the Government approved standard for hair and beauty, joined forces with Eastleigh College to host their latest training event at the college in conjunction with awarding body VTCT. The road show was designed to demonstrate the latest hairdressing and nail art skills to professionals from across the region.

"This was the perfect event to launch our new hair and beauty apprenticeship scheme." Commented Zoe Huggins, Learning Manager for Hair and Beauty.
"It has also proved us with a great opportunity to talk to salon owners and find out how apprenticeships can be a great benefit to their business."
Over 100 hair and beauty experts from Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport, Winchester and Eastleigh were invited to the event to see specialist demonstrations in contemporary nail art, barbering, cutting, colouring and African-Caribbean hairdressing.
Students from Eastleigh College's hair and beauty department were chosen as models for the event, while others demonstrated their skills in holistic therapy and massage to guests.
