Solent Mobility Centre, in the High Street Lee on Solent, held a charity event in aid of The Haven, Titchfield, a charity that supports breast cancer patients in our region.
For every £1 raised, Solent Mobility matched it doubling the total collected to £320.00.
The Mayor of Gosport, Councillor Linda Batty joined with shoppers in the show room, where staff served up delicious mince pies and mulled wine to add to the festive atmosphere.
People popped in throughout the day to sample the tasty treats and donate to the firms chosen charity for this year’s Christmas event. There was a raffle with many prizes, plus the traditional wishing well in the window for passers by to donate to the charity.
Debbie Watts, one of the directors at Solent Mobility said; “It was lovely to see so many of our regular customers and new ones too. There was a real buzz with people chatting and getting to know one another. A real community spirit as always.”
The Mayor of Gosport, Councillor Linda Batty said; “It’s been a very interesting morning. The staff are brilliant and extremely knowledgeable, I was able to gain so much information on the wheelchairs and rise recliner chairs and how customers are measured to ensure the right fit.
“The Haven charity in Titchfield will benefit from today’s event, which has been lovely with so many people popping into the show room to show their support.”
Debbie added; “Holding this event is just our way of saying thank you to our customers, who have supported us throughout the year and wish them all a very Merry Christmas, and giving back to a local charity.”
