Fundraising Mum Uses Skills to Help Others

A mother whose son has cerebral palsy is sharing her fundraising skills with the organisation that has helped to give him some independence.
Tracy Gordon has been tirelessly raising funds since her son, Ollie Kinchinton - one of twins - was born with the condition in 2004. Part of her objective was to fund sessions at the Rainbow Centre in Fareham, a charity which supports children with motor impairement conditions with a system of learning known as Conductive Education.
She, and Ollie's dad Keith, have also been raising funds for potential life-changing treatment in India, called G Therapy. Including renovating their home to make it wheelchair friendly, Tracy has gained valuable skills along the way.
As testament to her efforts, Tracy and Keith have almost reached their goal of raising £5.500. Now she is using the skills to help other children and their families by working as a volunteer at the centre as Events Co-ordindator.
Tracy said, "Our own fundraising is very rewarding so I thought I would offer my skills to others. Last year I said that once the boys were in school I will help out the Rainbow Centre so I have been given the next three big events to work on. I am excited about getting back out there and doing something other than being a mother and a housewife."
Tracy has two further events planned this year for Ollie's Fund including an Autumn Ball in October. You can find out more by visiting www.olliesfund.co.uk.
