Portsmouth Author Publishes Historical Romance Set in Portchester

A Gosport author is getting set to release her new Portsmouth-based book this week.
Claire Voet will be releasing her novel Whittington Manor Wednesday 15th December.
The love story set in the Second World War sees two people from Portchester fight for their love amid tragic circumstances.
Author Claire, grew up and lived in Gosport, Southsea and Portchester and said she's loved writing the area.
She added: "I've always been interested in history and in particular the time of the 2nd World War.
Claire Voet "I also wanted to emphasise that it doesn't matter what social background you came from, everyone suffered during the war and there was a huge sense of community spirit that brought people together."
The book is also currently being adapted for screenplay, Claire said she's extremely excited about the project. She added; "It is such an emotional and inspiring story that it will make a wonderful screenplay.
"I think many people can relate easily to the characters and it is an era that fascinates many of us, so I'm confident that it will be a success."
People can purchase the book from December 15th from various booksellers including Amazon, WHSmiths, Blackwells and Waterstones.
Not content with one published novel, Claire is currently working on a new historical romance novel with a paranormal twist, called ‘The Ghost of Bluebell Cottage.'
Claire said she is loving the new project: "I'm having great fun writing the story and already there has been an enormous amount of interest in this story. I aim to get it published next summer."
