Bring Out the Writer in You

The Groundlings Theatre in Portsmouth is looking for new writers to bring fresh creativity to their Tapas Theatre Festival, a totally original, new concept where the audience pick and choose the snippets of theatre they want to see in different spaces throughout the building.
Running on Thursdays throughout July, they are looking for scenes to be performed in the kitchen, under the stage, in the dressing room and more!
The scenes can be about anything, they just have to be approximately 10 minutes long and fit the location they're in. For example, the office turns into the office of a small loans company for questionable clientele and the toilet becomes the toilet of a wedding venue mid-event when everything seems to be going wrong.
AboutMyArea was told, "The possibilities are endless, so we encourage you, no matter how much experience you've had to submit us your scenes by 25th June for us to read. We are happy to give feedback, and help those who are successful curate their writing to the highest standard. It's great exposure to get your work out there, and for you to see it come alive."
Richard Stride, Artistic Director and creator of the festival says “This is a great opportunity for flexing your creative muscle and networking, as the festival attracts many industry professionals”.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your interest in the festival- be it with your writing, acting or directing. Applications should be received by 25th June for this season. If you have any questions about the event, or how you can get involved, then please give us a ring on 023 9273 7370, or email email@example.com.
